Today is the day Montrealers have been waiting for, as thousands take to the streets for Montreal's most shamrockeriffic annual celebration in St. Patrick's parade action.
CTV Montreal took part in both the Montreal fete and the one in Hudson where Mutsumi Takahashi rode in style as the Grand Marshall of the rolling celebration of all things Irish.
About 2,500 participants - including bare-legged bagpipers in kilts - are taking part in Montreal's 192nd annual event. Somewhere around 250,000 onlookers lined the streets in spite of the chilly -13C temperature before the windchill at noon.
And despite the threat a protest would put a damper on the day's festivities, all went smoothly.

And, if you’re a subscriber to Bell Fibe TV, its community channel Bell Local will be producing a full show on this year’s parade, and the history of the St. Paddy’s parade in Montreal. That program will be available on channel 1217 in early April.
