A 23-year-old man is seriously injured after he was hit by a taxi early this morning in the Plateau.
The man was crossing the street at the corner of Pine Ave. and St. Urbain St. when the taxi, headed south on St. Urbain, collided with him.
While swerving to try and avoid the pedestrian, the taxi also struck a parked car.
The man has serious injuries to his head and body, but his life is not in danger.
The taxi driver was treated for shock.
Police say it appears the man was crossing on a red light.
