Montreal police have released footage of a car they believe was involved in a hit-and-run that left an American tourist in critical condition on Saturday morning.
Around 2:15 a.m., police received reports of a man lying unresponsive in a parking lot on St. Laurent, corner De Maisonneuve.
Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old man with significant head injuries. He was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
After reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses, the SPVM determined that the man was injured in a hit-and-run.
They are unsure if he was hit while on the street, or in the parking lot.
The man is originally from Florida, and police believe that he was travelling alone.
St. Laurent Blvd. was closed most of Saturday between Ste-Catherine and De Maisonneuve, but has now reopeneed to the public.
