Hydro Quebec cut power to about 6,000 homes, schools, and businesses in NDG on Wednesday.
There was a gas leak in the area, likely due to construction.
Road crews have been working in the area throughout the year to repair and replace roads and sidewalks.
The power was cut at 11:48 a.m. and Hydro Quebec dispatched a crew to the area an hour later. The utility had power fully restored later on in the afternoon.
The affected area reached from Decarie Blvd. to Prince of Wales Ave., and from roughly Cote Saint Luc Rd. to Monkland Ave.
There were no reports of any injuries.
