UPDATE: The woman was found Friday morning after spending the night outside. She is in good condition.

Search and rescue crews are combing the area around a Laurentian village after a 24-year-old woman disappeared.

The woman went for a walk Thursday afternoon in a wooded area in the village of Amherst, about 100 km northwest of Montreal.

She has not been seen since. Police started searching for her Friday evening use foot patrols, officers on all-terrain vehicles, even the Surete du Quebec helicopter, but had no success.

The search resumed Friday morning with emergency personnel from several neighbouring municipalities taking part.

The SQ has set up a command post to direct the search and hopefully get more information from passers-by who might have seen the woman.
