Jacob Richler's love of food came straight from his mother's kitchen.

"That was where the familiarization came from, but my mother was an incredibly attentive mother and whenever she and my father travelled she would leave all these great dishes behind," said the youngest child of famed Canadian writer Mordecai Richler.
