Yalda Machouf-Khadir, 18, will be getting another night in jail after her bail hearing was suspended until Tuesday following a day in court in which lawyers locked horns on whether she should be released pending trial.

A prosecutor pleaded with the judge to keep Machouf-Khadir behind bars because he said that she has a history of ignoring bail conditions and simply gets rearrested for protest-related activities upon each release.

The young woman, daughter of Quebec Solidaire's lone MNA Amir Khadir promised, however to respect a curfew and conditions.

The investigators presented evidence that included documents found in her home allegedly detailing a planned attack on the home of now-former Education Minister Line Beauchamp.

Prosecutors also suggested that Machouf-Khadir has been involved in radical groups, possibly including the CLAC, which was behind the anti-Grand Prix clashes.

Her fingerprints were found at the scene of Beauchamp's vandalized office and her face was also identified by UQAM security cameras, according to prosecutors.

Her boyfriend Xavier Beauchamp was released on $1,000 bail and a long list of conditions, as was co-accused Simon Langlois.

The hearings were held under heavy security and those who entered the courtroom, including Machouf-Khadir's supporters, were forced to have their knapsacks searched before entering the room.

Machouf-Khadir's parents were in attendance and her father Amir Khadir offered to pay bail for his daughter's co-accused Zachary Daoust.

Yalda Machouf-Khadir was among 11 individuals that police sought to detain prior to the Grand Prix race.

She had previously been arrested twice for taking part in a demonstration that involved blocking bridges and she was also accused of partaking in various acts of political vandalism.
