The West Island Palliative Care Residence inaugurated its new pavilion on Friday, giving 14 new beds to those needing end-of-life care in the west island.
The project took three years and a lot of volunteers. With 14 new beds, the residence can now accommodate 23 people needing palliative care services.
Many call this place a model for every community to follow.
"We need to do this in every city in the country," said Russell Williams of the West Island Palliative Care Residence.
"But it's not just governments or the private sector, this is a great example of everyone working together. That's how we're going to achieve that success."
