U2, which had to postpone its world tour after Bono injured his back, will now be coming to Montreal in 2011.

The North American tour will start in Denver, Colorado on May 21 next year, and stop for two shows at Montreal's Hippodrome on July 8 and 9.

The band was originally scheduled to perform in Montreal this coming weekend, and all tickets for those shows will be honoured next year.

People who prefer to get a refund will now be able to get one from concert promoter Evenko wherever they purchased their ticket.

The band had to cancel the North American leg of the tour after lead singer Bono was rushed into emergency surgery in May.

At the time, doctors said that Bono would require eight weeks of rest.

The European tour begins next month in Turin.
