ST-JEROME - More painful moments were relived during the trial of Dr. Guy Turcotte, charged with murdering his small son and daughter.
On Wednesday the court in St. Jerome heard the 911 call that his distraught mother Marguerite Fournier, 75, made, asking for a police car to come to his home.
At the time she did not know the horrific fate her two grandchildren had suffered.
"My son called last night, he was very discouraged. We tried to call this morning, there was no answer," she continued. "His house is closed, nothing is moving, his car is there."
The dispatcher eventually agreed to send a car, but only after putting the woman on hold.
It was likely too late for her grandchildren. According to another witness, Turcotte might have killed his children as early as 8 pm the night before.
The witness worked with Turcotte at the same hospital.
He asked Turcotte, "why did you do this, why and when?"
Turcott reportedly replied, "It was 8 p.m. My son was asleep and I just stabbed him in his bed."
An ambulance technician reported at the trial Wednesday that he was traumatized by the bloody sight.
He remembers Turcotte telling him: "tell my wife I love her."
