The trial is underway for a former teacher at Rosemere High School who faces sex-related charges involving a male student.
Tania Pontbriand, 41, was charged with one count of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The alleged sexual relationship took place between 2002 and 2004, when Pontbriand was a 32-year-old Phys. Ed. and the boy was 15 years old.
She was arrested in 2008 after the boy, now in his early 20s, went to police and accused the woman of seducing him.
The prosecution claimed in the St. Jerome courthouse Tuesday that it was a very intense relationship, and that the pair had sex over 200 times in the back seat of her car, as well as 100 times in various other locations, including highway rest areas, camping trips and in a classroom.
The defence claims the encounters never took place and that they are a figment of the young man's imagination.
The prosecution presented physical evidence: a sleeping bag containing traces of both Pontbriand and the young man's DNA.
The defence also claims the case violates Pontbriand's right to a speedy trial.
Pontbriand, who is expected to take the stand next Tuesday, faces sexual assault charges due to the position of authority she had over the boy. If found guilty, she could face a maximum of ten years behind bars.
The former teacher was dismissed by the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board.
