SHERBROOKE - A teenager will face a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of an 82-year-old Sherbrooke woman last summer.

Rejeanne Pelletier-Charette was found dead in a field two kilometers her home in suburban Rock Forest last Aug. 17, four days after she was reported missing.

The teenager was 16 at the time and was charged with kidnapping, forced confinement and car theft.

Now 17, the teenager has remained in custody since then and will be arraigned Tuesday at the Sherbrooke courthouse on the added first degree murder charge.

The teen underwent a psychiatric evaluation last summer.
