Talks between McGill University and its support staff have broken off, Kevin Whittaker, spokesperson for the McGill University Non-Academic Certified Association has confirmed.
A conciliator informed both sides Friday night talks were being suspended when it became clear both parties could not agree on wages. Agreements on pensions, benefits and premiums also remain unresolved.
"We're worlds apart," said Whittaker.
The 1,700 members of McGill support staff have been on strike for more than two months.
