The teenager arrested Sunday after a jewellery-store heist a Fairview mall in Pointe Claire has been released on bail.
Steven Joseph, 19, was freed after his parents posted $10,000 bail.
Joseph is accused of having driven the getaway car – his father's white Ford Escort – in the jewellery theft Saturday where four men entered the Birks store inside the mall, pepper sprayed clients and employees, smashed glass and took off with several hundred thousand dollars in jewellery.
Joseph faces 11 charges, including armed robbery, assault with a weapon, conspiracy and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Police say Joseph is cooperating with police by giving them the name of his accomplices. Those four men are still at large.
Joseph will be under the strict supervision of his parents while out on bail. He is to remain in his parents' home between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., is not to use drugs or alcohol, and must not have any contact with the co-assuced or anyone with a criminal record.
The teenager is scheduled to re-appear in court on Sept. 23.
