MONTREAL - Quebec's rental board has issued its recommendations for rent increases for 2012 -- and they are fairly modest.
For homes that are heated by gas the rental board is recommending no increase in rent.
Units heated by electricity should face a 0.7 per cent increase -- and 3.6 per cent for those using oil.
In apartments where heat is not included the suggested rent increase is 0.6 per cent.
These recommendations don't include changes due to municipal and school taxes or renovations.
The calculation formula is updated every year.
