The duo were featured speakers at the fifth annual Montreal Citizen Summit, which focuses on what kind of city Montreal should become.

Tremblay used the occasion to stress the importance of English for Montreal's citizens, and its mayor.

"There are some citizens of Montreal but there are also promoters from other countries, there are general councils, and there are 90 international organizations in Montreal, so I am regularly asked to express myself in English. I think it's an advantage," said Tremblay.

After his speech Tremblay did not sit with the other mayoral candidates, which Harel called a lack of respect.

"All the candidates for mayor should sit at the same table," said Harel.

She then continued, saying her candidacy was about restoring hope and transparency to city hall.

"I want to restore pride to Montrealers," said Harel.
