Montreal police are asking the public for help in finding a 29-year-old woman who has been missing since Sunday December 17.

Priti Patel left her parent’s home in the Saint-Laurent borough on that day and hasn’t been seen since.

Her family fears for her safety because she suffers from a health problem and does not have her medication with her.

Family said Patel, who lives in Chateauguay with her husband of three years, decided to spend the weekend with her parents as he had to work.

Priti then spent Sunday watching TV with her brother Hitesh.

"Sunday is football, so I got Priti into watching football," he said.

After the game he went to the gym.

"All I know is that when I left she just had plans to stay home and watch Netflix," said Hitesh.

According to a Facebook post about her disappearance, Patel mentioned that she was going for a walk and left around 11 p.m., and never went back. She left with only a jacket and her cell phone, leaving all her cards, bus pass and ID at the house.

Her family said she has never left home for such a long period of time.

"No one's heard from her since so obviously everyone's very worried. It's not typical of Priti to do that," said her sister-in-law Priya Patel.

Patel is 1.65 meters tall (5’5”) and weighs 63.5 kg (140 lbs).

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black wool coat, dark jeans and black New Balance shoes – though the Facebook post claims she was wearing neon blue Nikes.

Police add that Patel likes to walk near the waterways of the city.

Police have been searching the area for Priti without success, and this weekend friends and family have organized a search on Dec. 23 at 9:30 a.m., beginning from the parking lot at Sacré Coeur Hospital.

Anyone with information regarding her disappearance can contact Info-Crime Montreal at 514-393-1133.
