The lawyer for disgraced financier Earl Jones met with police for several hours on Wednesday.

The Montreal financial consultant is accused of defrauding investors of $50 million.

There is still no warrant out for Jones's arrest. Police say they are still building their case.

To that end they also met with several of Jones's clients, wanting to know how they met him, and what he told them about his investment strategy.

Jones's lawyer says his client is still in Canada and cooperating with police.

On Tuesday Jones's lawyer sad his client was very depressed and possibly even suicidal, but Earl's brother Bevan doesn't buy that.

"I mean listen the last days before he went away and everything he conned my wife and myself out of money. I love my brother but how could you do that to your own family?" said Bevan.

Bevan Jones said his brother never seemed depressed. He thinks Earl just got in over his head.
