MONTREAL - Police might have solved the murder of a good Samaritan that was killed while apparently trying to break up a fight last year on Cote-des-Neiges.

A team of homicide and major crimes officers apprehended Abiram Subramanim, 19, in St. Laurent Thursday night in connection with the stabbing death of a man who attempted to break up a quarrel outside of 6700 Cote-des-Neiges on March 22, 2011.

The stabbing was the result of a quarrel between three young men that escalated inside an indoor parking lot of Cote-des-Neiges Plaza at 6:30 p.m. on March 22.

The victim was reportedly stabbed while trying to quell the conflict and later succumbed to his injuries.

Subramaniam was pulled over while driving his vehicle Thursday and was arraigned in court Friday and will face charges of second degree murder.
