MONTREAL - The Montreal-based Maisonneuve Magazine, published quarterly, is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
The publication bills itself as a journal of arts, opinions and ideas, and has won several national awards, including Canada's best magazine.
Editor-in-Chief Drew Nelles said that Maisonneuve is the only one in Canada "that had the kind of broad intellectual curiosity that Maisonneuve does now."
Nelles said that while online editions are important, the print version is not going away.
"There are two main reasons that I love magazines. The first is that a magazine is ultimately kind of a curatorial project," said Nelles.
"It's not just about offering individual articles or individual essays in isolation. It's also about the package of the magazine itself, the kind of immersive process of reading the magazine."
