Montreal filmmaker Xavier Dolan has won a Cesar Award in France for the film Mommy, in his fourth nomination in six years.

Mommy is a poignant story of a single mother, her son and a stuttering neighbour

The film was released in Quebec last October by the movie's distributor, Les Films Seville.

The movie, which stars Anne Dorval, was widely acclaimed and some critics have called it Dolan's most accomplished film to date.

The 26-year-old Doland has already cranked out four other films, also to widespread praise.

His directorial debut, 2009's "I Killed My Mother," won three awards at Cannes.
