ContactMaria Sarrouh is a video journalist (VJ) at CTV Montreal.
Growing up, family dinners followed a pattern in her household: set the table, toss the salad, turn on the news. She began dreaming about a career in TV and digital journalism as a teenager and continues to fall more in love with it every day.
Prior to joining the team, she learned from some of the best in the business as a freelance writer at CTV National News, and got her on-air start as a part-time VJ at CHCH in Hamilton, Ontario.
For nearly two years, Maria was a producer at The Agenda, TVO’s flagship currents affairs program, where she platformed in-depth debates about the topics most important to Canadians.
She cut her teeth as an intern on the Toronto Star’s health and education desk.
Maria was born in Lebanon, raised in Saudi Arabia and immigrated to Canada in 2018. She has a masters’ degree in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University.
