A 28-year-old Montreal North man already facing charges for making threats on the Internet has two more accusations to face in court.

David Abitbol was charged Thursday with two counts of producing child pornography. He is already accused of possessing child pornography, making death threats, and improperly storing firearms.

The charges stem from sex stories involving children allegedly written by Abitbol and found by Quebec police detectives on his computer.

Defence lawyer Charles Benmouyal said his client didn't film children being assaulted but rather wrote a sex story involving kids.

"The production charge applies as much to a person who is filming a sexual assault on a child as it does to someone who writes a story where the protagonists are children involved in sexual activities," Benmouyal said.

"It's the second of these two scenarios that concerns Mr. Abitbol."

Abitbol was initially arrested on Oct. 2, 2010 for allegedly writing messages online threatening to kill former teachers and classmates.

Testimony at his bail hearing revealed that Abitbol believed he needed the weapons to overpower elves he thought were stalking him.

Crown prosecutor Steeve Lariviere said investigators probing Abitbol's computer found evidence that warranted the additional charges.

Police seized his computer, five firearms and ammunition. A search of the hard drive turned up evidence of child pornography, and a more detailed search turned up stories allegedly written by Abitbol.

"The police officers discovered new evidence that permits us to believe that the accused, between January 2010 and until his arrest, produced material that can be considered child pornography," Lariviere said.

Abitbol is currently out on $33,000 bail, and must remain under his parents' supervision.

His next court date is March 11, 2011.
