Everything - including nostalgia - is disappearing quickly at the once-popular Gray Rocks resort in the Laurentians.
Auctioneers moved in Friday to begin selling off tens of thousands of items, from furniture to the kitchen sink.
After 102 years, what was once the Laurentian resort, with skiing in the winter and tennis, golf and boating in the summer, is now up for sale.
Everything - inside and out - must go.
"There are a lot of memories. If walls could talk here we'd have lots of history," said Angela Stubbs, who worked at the resort for 30 years.
Three log cabins were sold at Friday's auction, and thousands of items, from glasses to computers to paintings to coffeepots are up for grabs this weekend.
Jerry Turner paid more than $5000 for his log cabin, and said he had no regrets.
"I feel great. A little anxious but, you know, if it falls apart I've wasted $5,250 and it's not the end of the world," said Turner.
Auctioneer Michael Martin said bidders came to the event for a variety of reasons.
"You're getting people that are in business, people that have homes, people that have bed and breakfast hotels, and people just want a piece to a put a chair lift on their front lawn as a souvenir," said Martin.
When the bidding's done, the hotel will be torn down, taking history with it.
"I'm very sad about it but that's life and we have to go on," said Gray Rocks owner Phil Robinson.
