Former ski coach Bertrand Charest, 49, has been denied bail, as a judge turned down his request Friday afternoon at St. Jerome courthouse.
Charest faces 56 charges in relation to accusations of sexually assaulting 11 young girls between the ages of 12 and 19, between 1991 and 1998.
The Crown Prosecutor said that the judge ensured the public trust in justice with the decision.
The judge also considered the safety of witnesses in taking the decision.
