A former ski coach from Quebec will learn Friday if he will be granted while awaiting trial for sexual assault.
Bertrand Charest now faces a total of 56 charges involving 11 young females.
Nine additional charges were laid Monday as Charest appeared in court for a bail hearing northwest of Montreal.
A publication ban has been placed on the evidence presented at the hearing.
Charest was arraigned last week on charges including sexual assault and breach of trust involving females between the ages of 12 and 19.
Authorities say the alleged crimes occurred between 1991 and 1998.
Mont-Tremblant police have said the alleged assaults took place north of Montreal and in France, Austria, New Zealand and the United States.
Alpine Canada (ACA) has told CTV Montreal that Charest was hired as a coach for the women's development team in 1996, but was suspended in 1998 when the ACA was "advised by a source that Mr. Charest may have engaged in inappropriate contact with a female member of the team."
The ACA said they began an investigation into the complaint and immediately suspended Charest as a coach. Charest resigned a few days later.
Alpine Canada also said it was in contact with the RCMP about the case, but were not told the results of its investigation.
