LONGUEUIL - Longueuil police are seeking assistance to locate a 16-year-old teen who may be suicidal.

Maxime Richard was last seen Feb. 28, 2012 when he left school after lunch.

His father has been handing out pamphlets in hopes of finding someone who can help him locate the boy.

"I don't have any words for this, it's just too difficult, that's it," said the young man's father Maurice Richard.

"We need help from everybody. If they have seen him somewhere, we need them to report it," he said.

Maxime Richard had been acting normally lately, according to friends.

"The week before he was at basketball practice he was just normal and we when learned about it we were surprised a lot," said his friend Benjamin Gingras.

And other friends said that he is much-admired throughout his school.

"He's a very smart man, a very kind man and a very talented man because he plays guitar and his favourite band is ACDC and he's like a superstar in my school," said his friend Alexis Hosatte-Ducassy.

Richard speaks French and is about 6 feet tall (1.83 metres) and 140 pounds (63.5 kilos). He has long blond hair to the shoulders and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black AC/DC sweatshirt and a black jacket. He may also be wearing his school uniform underneath – navy blue pants and a white polo shirt.

"This is a boy with no history, no problems at school, no problems with the law, no drug related issues or alcohol related issues," said Pina Arcamone of The Missing Children's Network. "He was not the victim of bullying at school."

Police believe he may also have dyed his hair back and headed to Sherbrooke, Que.
