MONTREAL - After Tupac Shakur's surprise performance at last weekend's Coachella music festival, 16 years after the rapper's death, CTV Montreal's Tech and Trends columnist sat down with Paul Karwatsky.

"It looks like a hologram but it's more of an optical illusion, it's something called Pepper's ghost and its something done by magicians and optical illusionist for centuries," said Elias Makos of the slain artist's performance.

Combining a powerful projector with professional computer graphics, the Tupac performance is a sneak peek at the technology-heavy future of concerts, according to Makos.
