On a visit to the flood-raved section of Quebec south of Montreal Saturday, Premier Jean Charest urged federal Defence Minister Peter Mackay to drop by to eyeball the mess.

It has been a month since the area began its battle with flooding and one resident, Keith Fuller says that many, like himself, can no longer feel sad about it.

"We're all just numb at this point," he said. "It's no longer frustration, just resignation.

Charest met with ten area mayors and mentioned that additional compensation is a possibility.

Canada's Governor General David Johnston was also on site.

One area mayor Gilles Dolbuc pointed out that winds from the wrong direction could cause the waters to rise again from four to six inches.
