Relatives and friends of the Quebec victims of the Burkina Faso attack earlier this month gathered Monday night in the Lac-Beauport chapel for a prayer ceremony.

The choir sang songs and mourners expressed themselves in a book laid out at the altar.

One of the victims of the Jan. 15 attack, Lac-Beauport  resident Yves Carrier regularly visited the small chapel. He was killed in the terrorist attack alongside his wife, Gladys Chamberland, their son Charlélie, his daughter Maude Carrier, as well as two friends, Louis Chabot and Suzanne Bernier.

The bodies of the six victims will be repatriated to Canada Tuesday and are expected to arrive in Quebec City on Thursday. There will be a joint funeral for five of the six victims, but the details have yet to be disclosed.
