MONTREAL - A 12-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car while walking in Saint-Laurent at about 3:30 p.m. Friday.
The boy was crossing Cote Vertu not far from the intersection at Bertrand when a SUV traveling eastbound on Cote Vertu struck him.
The boy suffered multiple fractures and bodily trauma but his life is not considered to be in danger.
The driver was also treated for nervous shock.
Montreal police collision investigators examined the scene in an attempt to determine the sequence of events that led to the accident.
UPDATE: The boy's mother contacted CTV Montreal with the following information:
"My son is recovering well and he was able to speak today about what actually happened. He was not crossing the street, he was walking on the sidewalk when the vehicle hit him."
