MONTREAL - Seven years ago Montrealer Kyle MacDonald took one red paperclip and eventually bartered it for a house.

"I said, I wonder if anyone out there would like to trade for something bigger and better than a red paperclip," said MacDonald.

14 trades later the story spread around the world and MacDonald had a house, something he never thought possible.

Now he's written a book, One Red Paperclip, about the trading extravaganza and all the people he met along the way.

He is also continuing to come up with ideas that are drastically outside the box, like buying everything in a store that's going out of business, and reselling it as art.

"Just getting to your goal isn't the plan, it's all about the adventure along the way," said MacDonald.
