A worker has died following an accident at a cement factory in Saint Basile de Portneuf, west of Quebec City.
The 26-year-old man suffered fatal injuries Saturday evening at 9:50 p.m. when attempting to unblock a conveyer belt.
He mounted a ladder and attempted to push the conveyer with a pole when an unidentified object struck him on the head, causing him to fall from the ladder.
He was later confirmed dead at hospital. Other workers were present at the time.
The Health and Safety Commission (CSST) is conducting an investigation.
