A 30-year-old woman was shot and killed Wednesday evening in Montreal's Lachine borough.

People who heard gunshots on Pacific Ave. near George Leclaire St. around 10:10 p.m and called police.

"When officers got on the scene they located a car that was located on Pacific Ave. When they looked in the car they saw that there was a woman, 30 years old, that had been shot at least once," said Constable Daniel Lacoursiere.

She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead soon after arriving.

A neighbour who spoke with CTV Montreal’s Derek Colon said he saw the woman before the shots were fired.

The neighbour said he had never seen the SUV in the neighborhood before and that the woman was alone in the car, and pulled a U-turn before parking, giving him the impression that the driver was lost.

This is the fifth homicide of the year in Montreal.

So far police do not have a motive for the attack, nor do they have any suspects in mind.
