MONTREAL - A woman in her forties was rushed to hospital Thursday morning after her car was broadsided by a city bus in the east end.

The woman was driving westbound on Hochelaga near Langelier at around 11:10 a.m. when she attempted to change direction by attempting a U-turn on the six-lane roadway.

The bus, which was carrying seven passengers, was unable to stop in time and ended up striking the side of the woman’s car.

The woman suffered a concussion and neck injuries, while the bus driver was treated for shock.

The seven commuters were unhurt in the collision.

Police investigators were on the scene into the afternoon but the street was eventually reopened to traffic.
