Police are investigating a suspicious death on the Plateau Sunday morning.
Police arrived at the apartment at 3697 Jeanne-Mance St. near Prince-Arthur St. at 8 a.m. to discover the body of a 53-year-old woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene, said Montreal police spokesperson Const. Danny Richer.
There were no marks of violence on her body.
A 52-year-old man was in the apartment and was questioned by police. Police would not say how the woman and man are related but said they knew each other.
“The circumstances of the death are still under investigation,” said Richer.
Police said there was a similar incident at that exact address in June, drawing their suspicion, though they would not say if there is a link between the two incidents.
They also said police had been called to that address a number of times in recent weeks for complaints.
An autopsy will be performed on the body.
