Several services and stores will be closed or operate on a revised schedule for Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1. Here is a partial list:

City of Montreal offices, including Acces Montreal offices and borough offices, are closed.

The 311 information line is running.

Household garbage and recycling pickup will take place according to the regular schedules except in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, where pickup of bulky items is cancelled.

The city of Montreal is once again teaming up with the Office municipal d’habitation de Montreal to offer assistance for families in need of low-income housing as the July 1 moving day approaches. For more information: 514-868-4002.

Ecocentres will be open according to the regular summer schedule. For information, click here (French only).

Public markets will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the Bonsecours Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres follow varied schedules set by their respective boroughs. Residents are asked to contact personnel at these facilities.

The Biodome, Botannical Garden and the Insectarium will be opened from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Claude Robillard complex will be closed, but outdoor tennis courts will be open.

The Pointe-a-Calliere Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Federal and provincial government offices will be closed.

Banks will be closed.

Municipal court and all service points will be closed.

All parking meters will remain in operation and parking signs will remain in effect.

Canada Post offices will be closed. There will be no regular mail delivery or collection.

STM buses and metros will operate on a holiday schedule. Visit their website for information.

AMT: The Deux-Montagnes and Vaudreuil-Hudson lines will run on a Sunday schedule, the Blainville–Saint-Jerome line will run between the St. Jerome and De la Concorde stations on a weekend schedule, and Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Candiac lines will not have any service.

Laval and Longueuil public transit will run on a Saturday schedule.

Most retail stores will be closed, but many pharmacies and supermarkets are open.

The majority of SAQ stores will be open, except those located inside buildings that are closed (malls, etc.)
