Longueuil's transit commission (RTL) has reprimanded one of its drivers after a passenger shot a video of her using her phone and driving.

It happened early this month as the RTL bus was travelling from Longueuil to Montreal.

The video (above) clearly shows the driver using her phone as she drives.

The RTL says it gave a written warning to the driver and advised her that texting while behind the wheel is not acceptable and warned her it must not happen again. They said they are taking the incident very seriously.

They would not specify exactly how the driver was reprimanded.

It is illegal to text while driving in Quebec, and that law extends to bus drivers.

Statistics show drivers are 23 per cent more likely to get into an accident if they are texting while driving.
