The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation's Run For the Cure was held in Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrooke and Val d'Or Sunday.
More than 9,000 people took part and raised more than $2 million. The money will fund research projects, education and support programs.
The event marks the start of breast cancer awareness month. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed type of cancer among Quebec women and the second leading cause of cancer death, behind lung cancer.
