Office furniture used by two former prime ministers is being auctioned off this September.

The desk, drawers and cabinet were made for Pierre Elliott Trudeau and used in his law practice at Heenan Blaikie.

When Jean Chretien retired in 2004, he also worked for the same law firm and used the same furniture.

Designer Alexandra Champalimaud made the pieces from maple, marble, and bronze, as a special order for Trudeau.

The items can only be viewed by appointment, with the auction beginning Sept. 5, and closing on Sept. 26.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.
