A 45-year-old man has died after falling headfirst into a mobile saw mill in the Laurentian town of Brownsburg-Chatham Sunday afternoon.

The man was helping the owner of a cottage there with repair work around 12:45 p.m. Sunday when the incident occurred.

According to reports, a board became stuck, and the victim mounted a stool to dislodge it. He then lost his footing and fell on the saw.

No ambulances were called to the scene because the death was obvious, said reports.

Police were called to the scene and will investigate the circumstances further.

The CSST will also conduct an investigation.
