Reactions were mixed Friday when Labour Minister Dominique Vien voiced her opposition to making the minimum wage $15/hour.

Vien was addressing young entrepreneurs when she said that raising Quebec's minimum wage to that level would have a serious negative effect on the economy.

Quebec's minimum wage is currently $10.75 an hour.

The president of the CSN, Jacques Letourneau, met Vien Monday to discuss increasing Quebec's minimum wage, and he said that Vien said she would study the issue.

The CSN is part of the 5-10-15 coalition that is pushing for a dramatic increase in the minimum wage.
