Part of the work to build the replacement for the Ville Marie Expressway means once again closing Greene Ave.
Crews are building Route 136, a narrower, two-lane road that will run from the Turcot Interchange to the Ville Marie Tunnel.
While they are working Greene Ave. will be closed to through traffic under the highway, between St. Antoine St. and Prospect St., with limited traffic between Dorchester Blvd. and Prospect.
Pedestrians will have to walk to Atwater Ave.
Greene Ave. will reopen when Route 136 is usable, which is expected to be in mid-November.
At that point the four lanes of Highway 720 east will be permanently closed.
Last summer Transport Quebec closed Selby St. and the Greene Ave. entrance to the 720 East.
Utility crews also used the opportunity to replace gas lines in the area.
