OTTAWA - Toronto-area Conservative MP Eve Adams is crossing the floor to the Liberals.
Adams appeared at a surprise news conference this morning with Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.
She spoke out against the Conservatives' recently announced tax measures for families, saying she can't support policy that only benefits the few.
And she called current Conservative leadership mean-spirited and divisive.
Adams dropped out of a bitter nomination contest in the riding of Oakville North-Burlington, which also led to her fiancee Dimitri Soudas getting fired from his top role with the Conservative Party.
Trudeau says she is someone who has demonstrated strength and ability and he welcomes her to the team.
