UPDATE: This advisory has been lifted. Details here.

The City of Montreal has issued a boil water advisory for Cote des Neiges and Outremont.

People are being told to boil their water for one minute before drinking it.

Unboiled water can be used for cleaning.

The area affected is a region between Decelles St. and Rockland St./Cote Ste. Catherine St., and between Van Horne Ave. and Forest Rd.

About 25,000 people live in that region.

Work on Edouard Montpetit Blvd. caused water pressure in the area to drop low enough to trigger the alert.
