A boil-water advisory is in place in Ste-Julie over the weekend after a major break in the city’s aqueduct on Friday.

During repairs, workers closed a valve which lowered water pressure in the network. While samples of the water have not shown any contamination, the advisory has been issued as a precaution.

Residents are encouraged to boil their drinking water until further notice, most likely ending on Monday.

Water should be heated to a boil for at least one minute and allowed to cool before drinking.
