A body has been has been found in the rubble of a fire in Delson that broke out Monday morning.

Flames erupted  at about 9 :30 a.m. in an industrial park on Beauvais St. in the South Shore city.

The Candiac-Delson fire department required the help of neighbouring community fire stations as some 50 firefighters battled the blaze.

It took seven hours to control the fire, which which gutted the building, that included four businesses.

A plume of thick, black smoke emerged from the fire, likely due to a tire business that was damaged in the blaze.

Upon investigating the burned-out scene, a body was found in the business where the fire broke out.

Rousiillon police and the Surete du Quebec are working together to determine the cause of the fire.

Certain elements on the scene lead investigators to believe the site may have housed marijuana.

The victim of the fire has not been officially identified, though police say they think they know who it is.

The investigation is ongoing.
