Two men were badly hurt when they were shot in de Sienne Park, near the corner of 54th and Pie IX, at 7 p.m. on Thursday
Paramedics transported the victims to hospital and a large police perimeter was established around the scene of the crime following the incident.
Both men, aged 25 and 28, were in critical condition when they arrived but the younger man has pulled through and his life is no longer in danger.
Police said on Friday morning that the 28-year-old man was still in bad shape.
Const. Raphael Bergeron said investigators have not yet been able to speak to the victims.
They have not been able to determine a motive and have few details as to what happened.
Police questioned several witnesses all night, and were still at the park Friday morning.
