A Baie-d’Urfe restaurant is in ruins after a major fire broke out early Sunday morning.

Emergency personnel received an alert at 2:10 a.m. after a security alarm in the Ristorante Linguini went off. A spokesperson said the alarm could indicate a break-in or have been triggered by the blaze.

The structure was totally engulfed by the time firefighters arrived on the scene. Though the fire was under control by 5 a.m., the building was almost totally destroyed and what remains of the building was demolished later in the day.

The arson squad was called in to investigate due to the suspicious nature of the fire.

Nobody was injured and no witnesses have been located.
