Police were in St. Michel en masse Monday night to maintain order during a vigil for Montreal's latest murder victim.

Several fights broke out and shots were fired at 25th Ave. and Robert Blvd., said Montreal police.

No one was injured.

A 24-year-old man was stabbed several times in the upper body while at the corner of Jarry St. East and 2nd Ave.at 5 p.m. Sunday.

He was rushed to hospital and treated for his wounds, but later died of his injuries.
